Jennifer Lopez on Upcoming Vegas Residency: ‘I’m Giving It All I Have’

Once Jenny from The Block, Jennifer Lopez will soon evolve into Jenny from The Strip, and the "Booty" singer told Billboard in a story published today (August 17) that she can't wait to get her upcoming Las Vegas residency underway.

Lopez, whose series of shows will kick off on January 20, 2016 at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, told the site fans should expect "the quintessential Jennifer Lopez experience in Vegas" as part of the production, her first big live project since the 2012 Dance Again tour.

"It’s just an opportunity that is overwhelming and at the same time the most exciting thing that has happened to me in a long time, so I’m giving it all I have," she noted.

Lopez added that concert-goers should expect her biggest hits, but with a funkiness they may not have expected.

"It is going to be glamorous and beautiful and the costumes and all of it,” she said. “The production is something that I haven’t gotten to do yet. So it’s going to be me in my element doing what I do at the highest level and it’s exciting."

And though there's some heavy competition in Sin City at the moment—Britney Spears, Celine Dion and Cher have all got residencies, just to name a few—J. Lo's aiming to best 'em all.

"I want people who are fans of my music to obviously come, but [also] people who maybe wouldn’t normally go see me on tour,” she shared. “[I want] the buzz to be, you know what? You have to see J. Lo’s show in Vegas. It’s a great show."
