Now that Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are settled and comfortable in their high-profile roles as new judges on Season 10 of 'American Idol,' the two singers are ready to take another step in their 'Idol' journey by performing sometime this season!

According to Fancast, 'Idol' executive producer Nigel Lythgoe confirmed that both Lopez and Tyler will perform and that each performance should happen before the season finale. "It will probably be before that, actually," the producer said.

While La Lopez is free to do whatever she wants as a solo performer, there is a caveat, though, as far as Tyler is concerned. Tyler sings for rock band Aerosmith and guitarist Joe Perry was openly vocal from the get-go about his disapproval of Tyler's new day job and even mused about the band moving on without their longtime singer.

While Tyler has been pulling double duty and working on new material with the rest of the band, it turns out he and Perry have buried the hatchet and put aside their singer-lead guitarist battle. Apparently Perry is over his distaste regarding Tyler taking the 'Idol' gig and that Tyler will quite possibly perform with his band when the time comes.

Overall, this news reaffirms the uptick that 'Idol' is enjoying this season. The infusion of new judge's panel blood and Lopez's star power have resulted in ratings wins and renewed interest in the already popular show.
