Jermaine Dupri – R&B + Hip-Hop Artists From Atlanta

Jermaine Dupri is living the life.

Born and raised in Atlanta, the legendary producer put the Georgia Peach on the musical map back in the early '90s, with two little rap kids who wore their clothes backwards.

Since launching his record label So So Def in 1993, JD has been making hit records for ATL artists on his label like Kriss Kross, Xscape, Lil Jon, Dem Franchize Boyz, Jagged Edge, Bonecrusher and others. Outside of his label, Dupri has created chart-topping songs for such artists as Mariah Carey, Usher, Monica, Jay-Z, Ciara, Janet Jackson and more.

"People come to Atlanta with a different mentality," said Dupri about his beloved musical city. "In the ‘90s, kids thought it was a dream, but now they come here almost expecting success. I travel all around the world and what I see are people who still look at Atlanta as [being at] the forefront of music."
