On Friday, MTV premiered a new ballad by Jesse McCartney titled 'The Other Guy.' The song is McCartney's second track that has been released off his upcoming 'In Technicolor' album, due out on July 22. Click the play button above to hear the new song.

McCartney sings with heartfelt emotion and guilt about his frustrations of being "the other guy" in this stripped-down tune.

The 27-year-old singer explains in the lyrics, "The selfish part of me needs for you to stay / Cause girl, you keep a smile stretched across my face / And I would give anything now / But you'd lose everything now."

Deep inside, despite his feelings for this cheating girl, McCartney sings that he doesn't want to be the one that causes hurt. "My heart is heavy with something I just can't ignore / Girl I'm standing here, wondering what it is that we've done / Baby, who am I to be that other guy? Cause I've seen tables  turned / A world of hurt / I never want to feel twice / I know what’s it like from the other side."

'In Technicolor' is McCartney's first studio album released under his own label, Eight0Eight Records.
