Many speculated that the recent viral video of Dennis Quaid completely losing his ish was a prank orchestrated by Jimmy Kimmel -- and now the talk show host is speaking out about it.

On the April 14 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the comedian addressed the situation, and while he implied that he wasn't behind Dennis Quaid's expletive-filled rant, it's important to note that he never actually flat-out denied it.

"I watched that video last night about 14 times," the comedian joked. "For the next eight years, I'm going to call everyone Dopey the D---. I might have T-shirts printed up."

"I was being blamed for it. There are two dozen articles online, thousands of comments suggesting that this is a prank video and I'm responsible for it," Kimmel continued. "I have to say, it's disappointing because you play 50 pranks and then all of a sudden people don't trust you anymore."

The talk show host then asked the audience if they ever thought that Dennis Quaid was actually just doing a cartoon voiceover (perhaps to deflect the attention from himself?), showing a ridiculously hilarious clip of Daffy Duck being dubbed over with the Parent Trap actor's rant.

Our opinion? We think that Dennis Quaid's outburst was so over-the-top (we were seriously expecting him to announce "DENNIS QUAID IS HERE" a la that Ellen DeGeneres prank) that it had to be a prank — whether it was the work of Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, or even Dennis Quaid himself.
