UPDATE: Earlier today (Sept. 3) E! News reported that Melissa revealed Joan had been moved out of intensive care and into a private room. She remains on life support.

Joan Rivers is still on life support, her daughter Melissa has revealed.

"On behalf of my mother and our family, we are extremely grateful for all the love and support we've received. At this time, she does remain on life support," Melissa Rivers said in a statement yesterday, Sept. 2 (quote via Us Weekly). "I know my mother would be overwhelmed by the continued outpouring of kindness, and I want to thank everyone for keeping us in their prayers."

The 81-year-old firecracker comedienne has been hospitalized at Mt. Sinai in New York City since Aug. 28, after she stopped breathing while undergoing a procedure on her vocal chords at a clinic that morning.

The 'Fashion Police' host was first listed in critical condition and was then put into a medically-induced coma. She was expected to be brought out of the coma yesterday, after which doctors will assess her brain, Us reports. We will be sure to update with the latest on her condition.

PopCrush is keeping Joan Rivers and her family in our thoughts as we hope for the best outcome for the comedienne and TV personality.
