Joe Jonas Talks Fashion, New Album and Karaoke
When it comes to being stylish, Joe Jonas knows his stuff. The 21-year-old -- who sat in the front row during Calvin Klein's spring fashion show in Milan -- recently spoke to the UK chapter of GQ.com about his love for fashion, his forthcoming LP, and his ultimate karaoke picks.
If you are a fan, it's probably obvious that the middle Jonas brother has been sporting a polished, high-fashion look as of late. "I love a good fitted suit," Jonas told GQ. "Simon Spurr ... [is] one of my favorite designers at the moment."
However, the 'See No More' singer wasn't always as fashion savvy, as he reminisced about his biggest fashion faux pas. "The craziest outfit I ever wore was this white suit that I wore to an awards show in L.A. that I teamed with yellow shoes," he said. "It was interesting. It popped. I think I styled myself that day..."
Jonas also went on to discuss the feel of his upcoming solo album, whose title and release date have not been announced. "I wanted a more mature sound. I worked with Danga and Rob Knox and Danga has worked with Britney, Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Mary J. Blige -- you name it and he's worked with them. There's some hip-hop, dance and dubstep tracks in there," he explained.
Although most people know him for his pop songs, Jonas is actually a huge fan of electronic music, citing Swedish House Mafia, DeadMau5, Tiesto as some of his favorite artists. He also "thinks the world" of Adele and would love to collaborate with the Brit (in addition to fellow fashion fan Kanye West).
For someone who likes lots of hip, contemporary music, his karaoke song choice is kind of surprising. His "go-to" tune is "anything from 'Grease,'" but mainly the Broadway play/movie's big closing song, 'You're the One That I Want.' "A lot of my friends are singers but there are always a few people who aren't and they don't want to embarrass themselves," Jonas said. "So we flip-flop so that I take the girl part and they take the guy part. It's really high for me."
