On any given day, it would be unlikely to find Joe Jonas’s name next to rap superstar Nelly. However, given the fact that these two were just cast as mentors on the upcoming CW music competition 'The Next,' perhaps we can make an exception.

‘The Next’ is a series in which the shows judges — called 'mentors' — will scour the country in search for America's next undiscovered artist. Being cast alongside Gloria Estefan and John Rich, the rapper and Jo-Bro superstar will round out the group of mentors whose job is to travel the country and move in with aspiring singers in order to help them compete and represent their towns in front of the entire country. That's a huge feat.

“I’m gonna live with them for 72 hours,” the middle Jonas told Ryan Seacrest. He continued, “I’m gonna meet their families and learn about them… so we can really work together for this audition.

The new CW hopeful is brought to us by Queen Latifah and executive produced by Dave Broome (‘The Biggest Loser’) and Shakim Compere.

The job comes just in time: Joe Jonas is all set to participate in FOX’s celebrity dating program 'The Choice,' while Nelly is set to release his sixth studio album this coming fall.

Joe isn’t the only former Disney star making headlines for new television shows today. He’s recently commented on headlines regarding ex-girlfriend, Demi Lovato, who has signed on to be a judge along side Britney Spears, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid on the upcoming season of 'The X Factor.'

"I think she’s gonna be great," he said. In speaking of her publicized meltdown from just a year and a half ago, Joe explained, "She’s such in a good place right now and I know that she's gonna be able to really influence a lot of people out there, not only people who’ve gone through tough times. It’s a great thing for her and I'm really excited.”

How can you not love that guy? First he helps judge the Miss USA pageant and now he’s making the dreams of aspiring singers across the country come true.

Check out 'The Next' on the CW in August.
