John Legend has offered outspoken opposition against Donald Trump, often calling out the racist, sexist, xenophobic rhetoric that ruled the Celebrity Apprentice star's presidential campaign. It's unsurprising then, that the "Love Me Now" singer has taken issue with his good friend Kanye West, who not only took a meeting with the president-elect this week, but also publicity admitted he would’ve voted for Trump had he bothered to make the effort.

Legend addressed Kanye’s recent meeting with the former reality star — which took place on Tuesday (December 13) at Trump Tower in New York City — during an interview for France’s Clique TV.

When asked whether he thinks it’s possible to speak with Tump about specific concerns, Legend didn’t mince words.

"I don’t think it’s impossible to talk to him about issues,” he said, "but I won’t be used as a publicity stunt, and I think Kanye was a publicity stunt.”

“I’m pretty disappointed with Kanye that he says he would have voted for Trump,” Legend, continued. “I think Trump has been corrosive. His message has been corrosive to the country. And I think the things he’s promised to do have been very concerning for a lot of people, and for Kanye to support that message has been very disappointing.”

Kanye reportedly met with Trump to "discuss multicultural issues" which "included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago," according to a series of tweets he posted hours after their conversation.

But whatever the "Famous" rapper's reasoning may be, Legend maintains, "Whatever's in his mind, I disagree with him."
