As John Mayer readies his fifth album, 'Born and Raised,' the blues-influenced rocker is unveiling a list of spring tour dates that will take him on a month-long trek through 18 cities. The tour kicks off April 9 in Bloomington, Indiana and runs through May 6 in Phoenix. Most of the concerts are theater shows, with the notable exception of an April 29 gig at the Jazz & Heritage Fest in New Orleans.

Mayer will most likely perform plenty of material from 'Born and Raised' on the tour. The album is expected to see a release shortly after the tour finishes. The record features backing vocals from David Crosby and Graham Nash on the title track. Earlier this month, Mayer shared a clip from the album's first single, 'Shadow Days.'

Mayer once quit Twitter so he could focus on writing music, but he's found a new online home at Tumblr, where you can follow his progress on the record.
