If the matching patriotic shirts from Fourth of July didn't convince you that John Mayer and Katy Perry were an item and "on" again, perhaps this video of Mayer, revealing how and why he fell in love with "my Katy" while performing a 'A Face to Call Home,' will.

Mayer, known for putting his foot in his mouth when talking to the press about his exes, kicked off his tour on Saturday (July 6) in Milwaukee and paid quite the romantic tribute to Perry, who he started dating when he was being treated for vocal cord damage.

"I was just getting to know a girl and started really reconsidering how difficult everything was going to be right as he was putting the needle through my neck because I was still getting to know this girl and I wasn't going to be able to talk to her," Mayer shared, referencing the procedures he had.

Mayer called Perry “more incredible than I ever thought" since she would do things like speak for him when they would order food, since he could not use his voice. He continued, "She would order for me. I would whisper in her ear. She would order for me with the waiter...I did a lot of whispering. When I was in Montana and I wasn't speaking, with really bad cell phone service and really bad Internet service out there and the sound wasn't great either. The Internet was not great for iChat, and there was a lot of missed, dropped video frames, and she was so patient as to even, continue to get to know me and love me while we'd be on speaker phone, looking at intermittent photos of each other that were coming through with choked, satellite Internet. This is a long time coming for the both of us and I want to dedicate this next song to my Katy, who is my face to call home."

Aw, he said "my Katy." How sweet! Perry was reportedly at the show and there to witness this grand declaration of lurve. Swoon! Knees, meet weak.

Yep, these two are totally back on. Perhaps Mayer reached out after he heard about what Perry said in Vogue -- that she was still madly in love with him.
