Jonas Brothers vs. Miley Cyrus – Pop Clash
Shake your pom poms, Jonas Brothers lovers, because your boys have won another round of Pop Clash! Thanks to their fans’ votes, the trio have taken another win (most recently against Emblem3) with their newest single ‘Pom Poms,’ which means they have to defeat two more competitors in order to gain a spot in our Pop Clash Hall of Fame.
So, will the Jonas Brothers be able to beat out their musical rival this week? It’s going to be a tough battle, as Nick, Joe and Kevin take on Miley Cyrus and the smokin’ hot singer’s brand-new single, ‘We Can’t Stop.’
The Jonas Brothers have created one of their catchiest songs to date with ‘Pom Poms.’ While the song has a rock n roll edge that’s further bolstered by Joe Jonas’ gravelly voice, the track (off of the Jo Bros’ still untitled, 2013 album) also has some funky flavor thanks to the huge brass section, which transform it into a more groovable, uptempo number. As the guys grow older, it’s clear their sound is morphing into something more mature… and the same can be said of their lyrics, as they drop sexual bombs like, “More to love when your hands are free / Baby put your pom poms down for me.”
Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus is actually slowing things down for her 2013 single ‘We Can’t Stop,’ something surprising considering the song’s lyrical content. Like her biggest hit ‘Party in the U.S.A.,’ the carefree Cyrus is singing about having fun, drinking, laughing, dancing and just having an all around good time. Driven by soft, lighthearted keys and a heavier synth section, Miley sings, “Red cups and sweaty bodies everywhere / Hands in the air like we don’t care / Cause we came to have so much fun now / Got somebody here might get some now.” So basically, haters gonna hate, and Miley’s gonna be busy not giving a flying you-know-what.
So, which track do you like best? The Jonas Brothers jam ‘Pom Poms,’ or Miley Cyrus’ first single since 2010, ‘We Can’t Stop’? You can vote once per hour until the poll closes on Monday, June 10 at 3PM ET. Good luck!

Rules of Pop Clash: The artist and song with the most votes wins, and the winner goes on to face a different challenger the following week. If an artist wins four weeks in a row, they will be retired into the Pop Clash Hall of Fame in order to give others a chance to compete.
