Legendary singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell was reportedly rushed to the hospital after she was found unconscious at her Los Angeles home earlier today (March 31).

According to TMZ, paramedics were called to her home, though the call was allegedly for an "unconscious female." Reports go on to say that she was awake and alert when they took her to the hospital. She is reportedly still in intensive care, and while there are no details as to what caused her to fall unconscious or what warranted the hospital visit, it looks like things may be serious.

The 71-year-old folk icon was diagnosed with Morgellons disease a few years ago, which is a rare condition that causes the inflicted to experience delusions of an itching, biting and crawling sensation on the skin, despite the fact that nothing is actually there. According to WebMD, the condition is "controversial and poorly understood."

Mitchell -- an icon synonymous with the Woodstock era -- recently shot down reports that Taylor Swift would play her in an upcoming biopic. She said, "I squelched that! I said to the producer, ‘All you’ve got is a girl with high cheekbones.’ It’s just a lot of gossip, you don’t have the great scenes. There’s a lot of nonsense about me in books. Assumptions, assumptions, assumptions.” Taylor's song, "The Lucky One," is widely rumored to be about the singer, who noted her dissatisfaction with the music scene in general during a 2002 interview with Rolling Stone.
