In these fractious times, it seems like it's harder than ever for people to come to any kind of consensus -- but if there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that we need another singing competition on TV. Just kidding! But no, seriously, we're getting another one, and Jordin Sparks has signed on to be one of the judges.

Titled 'Teen Icon,' the series will air on CBS, where contestants between the ages of 12-19 will duke it out for the affections of Sparks, Jesse McCartney, '80s teen singing sensation Tiffany, and a fourth judge whose name has yet to be announced. The show will reportedly have an international focus, with plans to find 'Icon' hopefuls around the world and go to "English-speaking countries like Canada, the U.K., Australia and South Africa."

No premiere date has been announced, but open auditions are said to be taking place in the next few weeks -- in time to get the show on the schedule against 'American Idol,' 'The Voice,' and 2012's other new TV singing competitions: ABC's 'Duets' (featuring Kelly Clarkson) and the CW's 'The Star Next Door' (featuring Gloria Estefan). Time to start clearing room on your DVR?
