Jordin Sparks shares the spotlight with lions and cheetahs in the video for 'The World I Knew,' a song from the upcoming Disneynature film 'African Cats.'

The video begins with the season six 'American Idol' champ blowing out a candle and hunkering down for bed inside a tent in the African savanna. An animated butterfly appears and guides Sparks through the grassland, where she encounters a waterfall and witnesses sunrise.

Footage from the film appears prominently throughout the video, including majestic shots of landscapes and close-up shots of wild cats running and playing.

'The World I Knew' isn't specifically about nature, but its soaring chorus make it a good fit for a cinematic feature. Sparks sings, "Down this road / We'll look back at all we've known / Found a love that can grow old / Just passing through from the world I knew."

'African Cats' will be released by Disneynature on Earth Day, April 22. Actor Samuel L. Jackson provides narration the movie. Sparks has recorded for Disney before, when she sang the title song for a 2010 reissue of 'Beauty and the Beast.'
