America Ferrera was the target of a red carpet prank today (May 16) at the world premiere of her new film ‘How to Train Your Dragon 2,’ when a man rushed the carpet and attempted to dive under her dress.

The 30-year-old actress looked stunning in a cream gown with a low, scalloped neckline while walking the Cannes red carpet with her co-stars. While smiling and posing for photos, America received a shock in the form of the bold journalist suddenly throwing himself beneath her dress.

Cameras captured the outrageous moment as the journalist grappled with the star’s dress and red carpet security. She reportedly seemed confused by the scuffle happening at her feet, before security managed to drag the man away. Thankfully, America wasn’t hurt — though we’re sure she’s still in shock!

The Daily Mail is identifying the man as Ukrainian journalist Vitalli Sediuk, who has apparently built a reputation on pranking celebrities: In 2012, he ambushed Will Smith with a kiss at the premiere of ‘Men in Black 3,’ and in 2013 he was arrested after storming the stage at the Grammys during Adele’s acceptance speech.

Though no word has yet been released on what legal punishment Sediuk will face, if any, it’s clear that he got what he wanted -- a publicity stunt. It’s just a shame that it had to be at the cost of America and her premiere.
