Justin Bieber Appears at the 2012 Oscars

Justin Bieber Oscars

While Justin Bieber didn’t make an appearance on the red carpet at the 2012 Oscars, he did appear on the show. The Biebs was featured in Billy Crystal’s opening montage!

In the clip, a send up of ‘Midnight in Paris,’ Bieber rolls up in a vintage ride and beckons Crystal over. “Justin Bieber!” Crystal sighs. The duo were very transparent about their intentions. “I’m here to get you the 18-24 demographic,” Bieber explained to Crystal. “So how long do you want me to stay here for?”

“A couple of seconds would be good,” Crystal said breathlessly. The duo sat, staring at each other in awkward silence, for a moment. Then Bieber got up. “We’re going to hang out with Hemingway and Fitzgerald,” he said.

Bieber was joined by Crystal (who played two roles in the clip) as Sammy Davis, Jr. Crystal’s blackface and Hitler jokes likely won’t hit with everyone — especially Bieber’s coveted demographic, who may not even be familiar with Davis.
