Marina and the Diamonds recently performed an acoustic set for BBC Radio 1's 'Live Lounge' series, where she unveiled her own interpretation of Justin Bieber's 'Boyfriend.'

Sitting at a keyboard with her backing band, the 26-year-old British singer-songwriter stripped down the pop track, putting a quirky and soulful spin on it. She even made some slight lyric changes, singing it from a female perspective, but we're sure the Biebs would approve.

Traditionally, artists who appear on the program perform a cover of a contemporary song. With the Canadian  teen at the forefront of pop music, it's no wonder why Marina chose the hit track. Also on the set list was her brand new single, 'Primadonna.'

Marina and the Diamonds will release her new album, 'Electra Heart,' on April 30. With her latest cover, she just may have tapped into a whole new fan base of Beliebers. Those who want to catch her live can do so when she kicks off her Lonely Hearts Club tour in May. She'll also be opening for Coldplay in the U.S. from July 23 through Aug. 11.
