You know what they say about paybacks.

After TMZ ran countless stories about his battles with neighbors and Spitgate, Justin Bieber paid a "thank you" to the gossip site for April Fool's Day. It was likely all in good fun, but we'd hate to see how the site might return the favor.

The singer tweeted the site's tip line to his 36 million-plus Twitter followers. The tweet was since removed, but here's what it said:

As promised taking all fan phone calls TODAY at (888) 847 9869. Talk to u soon!”

We're sure the hotline was inundated with calls from Beliebers not in on the joke or hoping to get a chance to chat with the singer, not realizing it was April Fool's Day or that the possibility of The Biebs fielding calls was beyond remote. The prank probably tied up the lines, meaning legit tipsters couldn't get through with the latest news on ChRihanna or Amanda Bynes.

The company will also have to pay for all those calls made to its toll-free number. We'd hate to be on the receiving end of that bill.

Will the site retaliate with some more bad press on The Biebs? Will a cease-fire be sought? An olive branch extended? Or will this get ugly?
