Justin Bieber has been in so much legal trouble over the past few years that it's tough to keep each court case straight. But if you've been wondering what happened after he slammed his ATV into a paparazzo's minivan last summer while his then-girlfriend Selena Gomez was riding along with him, wonder no longer.

According to TMZ, Bieber decided to cop to his role in the accident, pleading guilty to simple assault and careless driving. While we're glad Bieber is owning up to his past indiscretions, the actual best part of this story is that he reportedly made his court appearance via Skype, as one does. The judge said to Bieber, "The lesson in all of this is to think before you act in the future."

Bieber was forced to pay a $750 fine, but he managed to avoid jail time, which is proof that a silver lining exists in every situation if you just look hard enough.

It's a good thing the case has finally been settled, because now Bieber can get back to surprising restaurant patrons with his surprise performances. In case you haven't been tracking the "As Long As You Love Me" singer with as much fervor as the rest of us, he recently enlisted his buddy Cody Simpson to play an impromptu rendition of their collaboration "Home to Mama" for a group of unsuspecting diners in an Italian restaurant. We should all be so lucky.
