Justin Bieber has amassed a particularly fervent group of fans, and true Beliebers are the ones most willing to spend hours in adverse weather conditions to catch even the slightest glimpse of him. So when Bieber first announced a surprise pop-up merch shop in New York City -- a promotional arm of his Purpose World Tour, which hit Brooklyn's Barclays Center this week (May 4th and 5th, respectively) -- there was no doubt they'd turn out.

We visited the VFILES pop-up shop on Thursday, eager to talk to fans and find out what exclusive merch they had their sights set on. But we soon realized that while some were willing to throw their cash at whatever was left inside as long as it'd been sanctioned by the "Sorry" singer, the majority showed up in the hopes that Bieber himself would make an appearance. And he did show up, of course, but it was long after most fans had made their peace and called it quits for the day.

One fan traveled from D.C. just to battle the wind, rain and fatigue, in hopes that she'd find Bieber somewhere among New York City's dense population. Another spoke of lining up at 11pm the night before, just in case Bieber arrived as soon as doors opened.

Two more fans spoke of their dedication and unwavering loyalty, insisting his legal infractions are mere blips on an otherwise flawless record. And while many claimed their devotion goes back to 2009, there were newer Bieber (mostly male) fans there, too, just as eager as the old ones.

For those of who were either unable to get the day off work or couldn't skip finals, fear not. We got plenty of footage from inside the shop and out, which you can check out in the video above.
