Though it's been years since Justin Timberlake last spoke to his once girlfriend and Mickey Mouse Club companion Britney Spears, he'll likely always feel the need to defend her when presented with an opportunity. In J.T.'s new interview with Playboy -- you know, the one where he admits that he smokes pot -- he took the chance to bash the internet and had Brit's back regarding statements that the singer has lost her dance moves.

"I don't have too much to say about her situation. I can't remember the last conversation I had with her," Timberlake stated, before leading into a rant about the way that people can hide behind their computer screens. "People think they can say anything and it doesn't matter to people. I'd love to see the people who comment about Britney online say those things to her face, because they couldn't."

As of late, Spears has made countless television appearances to pump her new 'Femme Fatale' album and the tour that goes along with it, which has caused people to scrutinize her new dance moves -- or lack thereof. Someone even put together a 'then and now' YouTube video, comparing the pop star's past moves with her present, which came as startling news to Timberlake.

"The internet is a cruel place. What a f---ed-up thing to do," the Lonely Island accomplice said. But Timberlake admitted that at 30, neither he nor his former pop icon girlfriend could probably hold a candle to their adolescent selves' dance stylings. "In Britney's defense, if you pulled up a video I did from 2003, I couldn't do the s---- I did then either."

While we're sad that the days of 'N Sync and '...Baby One More Time' are long behind us, we like our pop stars seasoned -- and with a bit of that Timberlake attitude.
