Back in April, CMT announced that Katy Perry would be teaming up with rising country superstar Kacey Musgraves for an episode of 'Crossroads,' a concert series where mainstream artists duet with country acts. Last night, the full episode featuring Perry and Musgraves aired and it did not disappoint.

The show opened with Musgraves and Perry dueting on Perry's mega hit, 'Teenage Dream.' Musgraves sang the opening verse while Perry looked on with approval. The two then got the crowd excited as they sang the chorus together. The harmonic joining of Musgraves and Perry on 'Teenage Dream' would prove to be the start of a fantastic concert featuring the two ladies.

"I've always wanted to do 'Crossroads' but it's never been right until now," Perry says during a taped interview segment on the show. She tells Musgraves on camera, "I thought this was a perfect fit. You brought neon cactus and I was like, OK, I'll bring neon palm trees.

"I think it's going to be really cool that my band is going to be playing some of your stuff, and vice-versa. It's just going to be a mixed bag," Musgraves says to Perry. "It's just [going to be] this cool California meets Nashville, electric western, acid western thing."

Musgraves also shared an anecdote on stage before the two performed her 2012 hit, Merry Go Round. "A couple of years ago, Katy found this song and tweeted about it. I remember I was in Dublin, Ireland, walking across the street, and I checked my Twitter and everything was blowing up and she gave me a lot of love for this song."
