Kanye West Receives Backlash from ‘I Don’t Like’ Producer Over Chief Keef Remix
Kanye West‘s remix of Chief Keef’s street banger ‘I Don’t Like‘ (featuring Pusha T, Jadakiss and Big Sean) is getting major props on the rap blogs, but there’s one person who “doesn’t like” the remix at all.
The song’s producer, Young Chop, wasn’t happy with how Yeezy flipped the beat and voiced his displeasure to Chicago radio’s DJ Moon Dog.
“I’m mad as hell, I’m mad as f—, for the simple fact that they did not ask me to change up s— in my beat,” said Chop in his expletive-filled tirade. “How the f— did they add another melody over the instrumental? These motherf—ers is playing me and I don’t give two f—s, I will sue the s— out of Kanye West.”
“I made a f—ing sound, so you supposed to stay with my f—ing sound,” he continued. “The beat is f—ing hard by itself. That s— don’t sound the same, it don’t got the same feel.”
We sympathize with Young Chop about his sound that he created for the song. The original beat was harder than a concrete slab at a construction site, but ‘Ye tweaked the beat and added a few melodies to it. However, looking at the bigger picture, this is a major look for Chop, who, until this song, was relatively unknown.
Furthermore, Chop needs to look up the definition of the term “remix.” Traditionally, a remix is an altered version of the original song.
As far as we know, Chief Keef doesn’t seemed to have a problem with the remix. In fact, he recorded a new verse for the remix while he under house arrest for his involvement in a shooting that took place last December. Hopefully, the 16-year-old rap sensation can get his act together and make some show appearances.
We are quite sure his fans will “Like” that.
