As any world traveler knows, it's difficult to keep track of local customs when one is far from home, and the resulting misunderstandings can often be embarrassing. Take, for example, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, who have reportedly been laboring under the delusion that you don't have to pay for ice cream in the U.K.

That's one explanation, anyway, for the tweets posted by a British ice cream shop employee who accused West and Kardashian of performing whatever you call the frozen dessert equivalent of dine 'n' dash during their recent visit to a Haagen Dasz shop in London's Leicester Square.

The swindled scooper, who WENN reports is unfortunately "known only as Assa," tweeted "Dear Kim Kardashian & Kanye West thank you for coming in HD, you could’ve at least payed for your ice-cream, regards the girl that served u [sic]!"

Digital Spy reports that West and Kardashian are in the U.K. to promote her new line of clothing, dubbed the Kollection, and points out that neither member of the superstar couple has commented on the allegations. We're sure it's just a big misunderstanding, but in the future, we'd suggest that Kanye might want to look into acquiring one of those Carvel black cards that enable the bearer to 75 years of free ice cream.
