It's been about a year and a half since Kanye West released 'Watch the Throne' with Jay-Z -- and even longer since he dropped his most recent solo LP, 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,' in 2010 -- but he could be plotting his return to the pop charts.

Idolator reports that West, in the midst of a European tour that has already produced at least one screaming tantrum as well as a nude magazine cover, was feeling gracious during his recent stop in Paris -- so much so that he told the audience he's recorded some "new s---" that we'll all be hearing in "a couple months."

While West's career sales have been a study in diminishing returns (all of his albums has sold fewer copies since 2004's 'The College Dropout'), each of his five studio solo LPs have moved at least a million units, with 'Watch the Throne' adding another 1.4 million. And the delay between albums hasn't diminished his chart muscle, either; last year's mixtape, 'Cruel Summer,' produced a pair of platinum-certified pop hits in 'Mercy' and 'Clique.'

As for the new stuff? West's reportedly been holed up in Paris with an assortment of producers, including The-Dream, Skrillex, and No ID -- none of which tells us much about the actual sound of the music, which is always tailored to suit West's famously mercurial whims. Looks like we'll just have to wait a couple months to hear it for ourselves.
