Kanye West is ready to take the fashion world by storm with his womenswear line DW Collection. Which means a new Twitter page called DWByKanye, right? Wrong.

This would have been a good branding tactic for Mr. West -- being able to attract other fellow designers to his account. But, after news broke assuming the account was linked to his, he tweeted the following update: "I really appreciate the fake DW twitter page but since it's not official I can't co sign any information on it."

There were only a few tweets of wisdom under the account. On Jan. 1 a tweet was posted saying, "Art filled opportunity. 2012 and beyond." In another, dated Jan. 2, it states, "Art knows no boundaries."

So far, the Twitter account is following only a few fashion mavens including A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou, Central St. Martins, model Anja Rubik and of course, Ye. Interestingly, Yeezy has been linked to Rubik and mentions her name in his 2010 leaked song, 'Christian Dior Flow.'

As we previously reported, West is making London his home base for his DW clothing line, simply called Kanye West. The DW design stands for his late mother, Dr. Donda West. He's expected to debut his collection during Paris Fashion Week in March.
