Pop diva Katy Perry will hit the road this summer on her 'California Dreams' tour, which begins June 7 (Prince's birthday!) in Atlanta and includes Swedish electropop artist Robyn. According to an interview with Rolling Stone, Perry is preparing for the excursion, which will support her 2010 album 'Teenage Dream,' as if "training for the Olympics."

Think she's kidding? Check out her daily planner: "I'm going to have a nice healthy breakfast. I'm on a meal plan, which absolutely sucks -- Then I'll work out, go to a vocal lesson, run through the entire set at rehearsals, go to dance rehearsal until 10:00PM and then go home and sort through e-mails concerning the production."

You could make easy jokes about the tough life of a pop star, but, c'mon admit it, that is a full physical and mental day, and we say, props to Perry for her stated goal of attempting to match recent tour spectacles put on Pink and Lady Gaga:

"I just really want to raise the bar. Touring is no longer an ordinary thing where you play an instrument in jeans and a T-Shirt." True enough, but does that mean she's going to attempt the crazy acrobatics Pink regularly performs at her shows? Think her new husband, Russell Brand, will go for that?

Robyn, who is currently out on her own US headlining tour at the moment (link to that story), will open the first nine dates of the tour. Marina & the Diamonds will take Robyn's place starting June 22 until Perry's July 14date in Winnipeg. No doubt Perry will be performing her new single 'E.T.,' which is sure to follow 'California Gurls' and the title track to the highest reaches of the pop charts.
