She's sorry! So sorry!

Katy Perry revealed that famed interviewer Barbara Walters shaded her when Perry was running late for their TV interview. Perry said she did the interview under duress, as her marriage to Russell Brand was coming apart at the seams, something she wasn't yet willing to reveal in her 2011 Most Fascinating People chat with Babs.

Walters, in turn, has responded to Perry's comments, issuing an apology for giving Perry a hard time.

In her Billboard cover, Perry revealed she was late for the interview and Walters was not happy about being kept waiting. Perry said that Walters scolded her, saying, "You know, I've only ever waited for one other person this long, and you know who that person was? Judy Garland. You know how she turned out, right?"

Ouch! While that's a stinging comment, Perry took it in stride. She joked that Walters shaded her, but did not reveal her marriage was crumbling or the circumstances which dictated her being late.

On her show 'The View' on Monday (Sept. 30), Babs said, "Katy, if I made you feel at all unhappy, during a time when you were obviously unhappy, and I didn't know, I'm sorry, but you can't always know."

That's only fair. Perry chose not to reveal that her personal life was in shambles at the time and therefore, her interviewer had no idea what was going on.

Babs made sure the olive branch was extended in a classy way. Knowing how classy Katy is, she probably accepted the apology happily.
