What do you do when you're a superstar with the world at your fingertips? If you're Katy Perry, you take the opportunity to continue to learn!

In a new interview with Yahoo, the 'This Is How We Do' singer opened up about her education.

"I was being pulled out of school even in the middle of school and sometimes being home-schooled," Katy said. "Sometimes we were sent to these really half-Christian, half-education, I-don't-know-what-they-were schools."

Luckily, Katy had teacher who believed in her and pushed her to continue to learn -- even when times got tough.

"There was a teacher named Agatha Danoff who was my vocal teacher and music teacher at the Music Academy of the West," the singer recalls. "It was very fancy and I didn't come from any money … and she always used to give me a break on my lessons. I owe her a lot of credit and I appreciate that she looked out for me when I didn't have enough money to pay."

Katy was so inspired by her childhood educators that she partnered with Staples to help raise funds for teachers via DonorsChoose.org. These days, she soaks up culture wherever she goes, as evidenced on her Instagram account. (Just check her snaps from museums here and here!)

"I've learned to educate myself at this stage and how to continue my education at any age," Katy said. "I'm going on 30 and I'm still very thirsty for information. On tour, we go to different museums and get to soak up all kinds of different cultural experiences."

We're going to take a cue from Katy and head to the nearest museum ASAP!
