It's dunzo for Katy Perry and John Mayer for the second time.

Us Weekly reports that the couple has split again but that it's likely not permanent and could just be for the time being. The duo began dating last summer, split in August and then got back together. So there seems to be some sort of magnetic pull between them.

A source close to the sitch says that it may just be a temporary thing and not the end for good.

"It's sad," a friend told the publication. "It's not over until it's over. You have to see how things play out."

Another insider said, "She's leaving the window open. They have both been so focused on work."

Perry is currently working on the follow up to 'Teenage Dream,' while Mayer is itching to return to performing live after spending the past year on hiatus due vocal cord issues. He is hosting a live Google Hangout sesh on Thursday, March 21. We doubt he'll repeat past mistakes and dish about his love life, as he had been known to do, pre-Perry.

They seemed to be super happy after coming out, all snuggly at the Grammys earlier this year. Maybe it really is just a temporary thang and these two will find their way back to one another.

Perry has been semi-quiet about the relationship as of late, save for some cute tweets about the pairing, like the one below.
