Katy Perry is currently on tour in the U.K., and on Wednesday she performed a special mashup of her latest single, 'The One That Got Away,' and Adele's 'Someone Like You.'

Wearing a red-and-white sequin dress, the pop star broke into an emotional rendition of her sixth single from 'Teenage Dream,' which looks back longingly on a former love. Perhaps as an inspired move from being in Adele's home country, Perry worked the chorus from the soul singer's No. 1 hit into her song.

At the 2-minute mark of the video, fans at Sheffield Arena can hear the California native putting her spin on the equally forlorn tune. Perry incorporates the poignant chorus into the mix, which is a lyrical match made in heaven for her new ballad.

Perry unveiled her latest single in September, and recently shot a video for the song, which is expected to premiere in the coming weeks. "I'm so pleased to select 'The One That Got Away' as my sixth single because this song shows a very different side of me that I haven't shown with my past singles on this record," she said in a press release.

Perry added, "I think that everyone can relate to this song. I wrote this song about when you promise someone forever, but you end up not being able to follow through. It's a bittersweet story -- hopefully, the listener learns from hearing it and never has to say they had 'The One’ get away."
