Forget the BBQ. Screw the beach. Nevermind the bikini babes, the brews and the stars and stripes-themed parties. Head over to the multiplex this July 4 weekend to take in a showing of Katy Perry's upcoming 3D concert film 'Katy Perry: Part of Me!'

Movie theaters are notorious for blasting the frigid air and cranking the AC, so you can get out of the heat and spend a lil' time with Katy and her frothy costumes, with a tub of popcorn to boot. Besides, what's more American than Katy Perry? Her biggest hit is 'Firework,' so it makes total sense to release her film during the country's birthday celebrations.

Perry revealed the movie's release date and its title during a chat with E! correspondent Kelly Osbourne on the orange carpet of the Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday night (March 31), at which she also performed. Perry encouraged Katy-cats to see the film, saying, "My concert documentary is coming out Fourth of July weekend. Go and see it and be a firework!" Come on, show 'em what your worth!

Katy-cats can surely get in on the fun and help choose elements of what they will see on screen, such as her costumes, by taking part in the Twitter initiative surrounding the film. We can't wait to watch!
