You Can Be Virtual Katy Perry Now, If You’re Sick of Being Virtual Kim Kardashian

If you're tired of playing with an app that allows you to simulate the life of a celebrity, why not play with another app that allows you to simulate the life of a celebrity?

According to Variety, Miss Prism herself will be the subject of a new smartphone game called "Katy Perry Pop" that's not unlike last year's wildly successful "Kim Kardashian: Hollywood." Launching December 17 through Glu Media, the game will give users the chance to evolve into music stars by sorting through a Katy-approved closet, producing eccentric music videos and even peering out into the world through the pop star's eyes, thanks to the magic of "Katy Vision."

Glu Media, which produced "Kim Kardashian: Hollywood" says honing in on stars' social media following is the key to a successful app, and that "Katy Perry Pop" aims to cater to a wide crowd that exists outside of the niche gaming community.

"There could be a lot of people playing Katy’s game, I think, that don’t necessarily consider themselves gamers,” CEO Niccolo de Masi said. “They’ll probably say ‘I’ve never played a game before but for Katy I will,’ and that’s pretty interesting from a demographic perspective."

The game will be available on Android and iOS.
