Katy Perry and Kanye West teamed up on the stage of the MTV VMAs to accept the award for Best Collaboration for their song 'E.T.' As she held the Moon Man trophy endearingly, Perry made reference to West's infamous disturbance of Taylor Swift from the 2009 VMAs.

"Now this is the time when you want to interrupt me, Kanye," Perry said as her husband Russel Brand applauded adoringly from the audience. West took the gentle jab in good spirits, but was quick to correct Perry when she said it was his first VMA.

West kept his comments brief, thanking God and "Lil' Wayne for having that joint." Actor Chord Overstreet and singer Demi Levato presented the award, the first of the night for both artists. The other artists nominated for the award were Chris Brown, ‘Look at Me Now’ feat. Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes
, Kanye West, ‘All of the Lights’ feat. Rihanna and Kid Cudi
,
Nicki Minaj, ‘Moment 4 Life’ feat. Drake
, Pitbull, ‘Give Me Everything’ feat. Ne-Yo, Nayer and Afrojack.
