Swish swish, bish: Katy Perry's got another award show hosting gig in the basket!

Despite telling the New York Times that "all award shows are fake," the Witness pop star will host the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards, airing live from The Forum in California on Sunday, August 27.

"I’ve been training with MTV in zero gravity, eating astronaut ice cream, and I’m on a group text with Buzz Aldrin and Neil deGrasse Tyson. Come August 27th, I’ll be ready to be your MOONWOMAN! Brace for impact, kids,” Perry said of her preparation routine in a statement, according to Variety

The five-time VMA-nominated singer previously hosted MTV's European Music Awards in 2008 and 2009.

Previously, Perry took home the 2011 Video of the Year Award for "Firework," the 2011 Best Special Effects and Best Collaboration Awards for "E.T.," the 2012 Best Art Direction Award for "Wide Awake" and the 2014 Best Female Video Award for "Dark Horse."

In 2017, she's nominated for best pop, best direction and best visual effects awards for “Chained to the Rhythm,” plus best art direction for “Bon Appetit” and Best Collaboration with Calvin Harris, Pharrell Williams and Big Sean for “Feels.”
