Katy Perry loves to try taming bad boys, and John Mayer is the latest. While she insists she doesn't want to be one of Mayer's conquests, she's perfectly content making him one of hers. Sources say she's determined to try to change his ways. How's she doing it?

Sources told Us Weekly, "She recently told John she was open to see other people." Another source dished, "Once Katy turned her back on him, he started chasing her again!"

The pair are notoriously on-and-off, which seems to be a pattern for both. Mayer has flip flopped in relationships with the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson in the past, while Perry had a 'Hot n' Cold' post-divorce rebound with Florence + the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd.

Perry's bad boy romantic life includes recently deceased actor Johnny Lewis, Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy, who recently revealed that she dumped him over email and her infamously short lived marriage to comedian and actor Russell Brand. Lewis, McCoy and Brand all battled substance abuse issues, with Brand facing insinuations of infidelity.

Perry and Mayer would make a cute, guitar-strumming couple, but the fact that she feels the need to play games to keep his interest doesn't bode well and likely isn't a good foundation for a healthy relationship. When you can snag any man on the planet that you want, why settle for someone who's just not that into you?
