Katy Perry ‘Waking Up in Vegas,’ First U.S. Appearance Since Split

The time has finally come, Katy Cats! Katy Perry will make her first post-split appearance in the U.S. this Friday. The starlet will be on hand with pal Markus Molinari at a celebration in Las Vegas. What’s the occasion?

Perry will be on hand at the opening party for 1 OAK Las Vegas, Us Weekly reports. The party will take place at the Mirage Hotel and will benefit the GiveLove charity, an organization specializing in housing and sanitation for Haiti. The foundation’s executive director, actress Patricia Arquette, will also be present.

The party is Perry’s first public appearance on U.S. soil since her split from Brand. Perry cancelled her People’s Choice Awards appearance shortly after news of the divorce hit, though it’s unclear whether the cancellation was because of the breakup or due to scheduling conflicts for her Adidas campaign.

Perry made her first global public debut two weeks ago, when she performed her final ‘California Dreams’ tour dates in Indonesia. Perry’s pals said that her work is doing a good job at keeping her mind off of her ex, so it sounds like a fun night out with friends is just what she needs.
