When Katy Perry showed up at the 2013 Met Ball wearing a sequined mosaic-print dress, we didn't question it. After all, the unusual garment fit the fashion event's punk theme. When Vanessa Hudgens wore a similar dress to the YouTube Awards, we immediately noticed a trend might be forming. The Dolce & Gabbana mosaic print is definitely unique -- who do you think wears it better?

Recently awarded the title of most-followed celeb on Twitter, it makes sense that Katy Perry accessorized her Dolce & Gabbana gown with a crown. The 'Roar' singer embraced the punk theme of the Met Ball by adding a vampy red lip and sparkly gold nails. Since the sequins and the print of the dress is a lot of look, Katy cropped the gown to hit just below the knee.

Vanessa Hudgens covered up when she wore this religious-inspired print. Her version of the D&G gown was floor-length with long sleeves. In the spirit of the awards show, V's makeup and hair was natural with a statement red lip. Although the dress wasn't as sparky as Katy's, the form-fitting garment gave her a formal vibe.
