As we await Kelly Clarkson's forthcoming soul-inspired record due out on 2017 via her new label Atlantic Records, the original — and, let's be honest, forever reigning — American Idol winner continues to make her voice heard this election year in a different sphere: politics.

Following Hillary Clinton's history-making acceptance of the nomination for Democratic Party Presidential candidate at the 2016 Democratic National Convention yesterday (July 28), where fellow stars Katy Perry performed and Chloe Grace Moretz urged millennials to rock the vote, the Breakaway singer voiced her support of Clinton on Twitter.

"@HillaryClinton you have my vote ma'am 🎉🎉🎉 #ImWithHer," she declared.

Almost inevitably, the "Since U Been Gone" singer was met with some hard backlash from fans who disagreed with her political stance.

"Really? I was a fan. Deleting all your songs off my iPod," one (former?) fan wrote. "Getting rid of your music as I was once a fan. As in your own words Kelly, 'Good Goes the Bye.' #deleting," another wrote in response to her endorsement.

The "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" vocal powerhouse evidently read through some of the replies and decided to invoke the legendary lyrics of Fleetwood Mac in response to the criticism: "If u don't agree w/me about voting4 @HillaryClinton thats okay but instead of attempting 2shame/insult me, just go ur own way #FleetwoodMac"

Last night wasn't the only time Kelly Clarkson spoke her mind this week.

On Monday (July 25), Clarkson sounded off on Twitter in praise of First Lady Michelle Obama's passionate speech at the DNC. "Damn! Just saw @MichelleObama speech at DNC tonight! That was amazing!! Love her 🎉🎉🎉 #imwithher #clinton" she wrote.

When one follower brought up their discomfort with one part of Obama's speech, in which she described the White House as being built by slaves (“I’m not sure I liked the part where she said the White House was built by slaves," the user wrote in a now-deleted tweet), Kelly responded with a zinger: "Pretty certain the slaves that built it didn't like it either." (Over 10,000 RTs and counting...)

See Kelly's tweets below. And for those who just want to #StopTheDramaStartTheMusic, watch out for her latest #KCLive coming this afternoon.
