Kelly Rowland Says Beyonce Was ‘Born to Be a Mother’

Anything Beyonce sets out to do, she accomplishes and perfects it within no time. So it's no surprise that motherhood is on that very same list.

"She was born to be a mother," Kelly Rowland recently told PEOPLE when asked how her former Destiny's Child bandmate was handling life as a new mom to baby Blue Ivy Carter. "She's wonderful."

"She's doing fabulous," adds the third member of the famous trio, Michelle Williams. "She has such compassion for people and humanity, period."

The three girls have come a long way since dominating the pop charts as Destiny's Child, which they still reminisce on from time to time, including one humorous conversation in particular.

"We were very shocked [when we found out she was pregnant]," says Williams. "We were laughing with each other the other day, and she was like, 'Can y'all believe it? I was the anti -- like no children for me,' and she's the first one [of us to have a baby] ... it was so amazing to see her."

Beyonce and Jay-Z welcomed their little bundle of joy into the world on Jan. 7, laying all of the rumors to rest that she had already gone into labor prior to the actual birth. For those close to the celebrity couple, they've said Blue Ivy is nothing short of gorgeous, just like her mama.

Guess the world will no longer be on baby-bump watch for Beyonce... now it will be all about capturing that first glimpse of the pop royalty!
