Kendrick Lamar Engaged to High School Sweetheart Whitney Alford

Kendrick Lamar is officially off the market! The chart-topping rapper just confirmed that he's engaged to longtime girlfriend Whitney Alford.

Lamar appeared on Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club on Friday (April 3) to talk about his new album To Pimp a Butterfly, but Kendrick wasn't there just to talk business.

When asked whether rumors that he was engaged to his high school sweetheart, Kendrick quickly replied. "Yeah, definitely. I'm loyal to the soil."

The rapper previously shared sweet words about his now-fiancée during a recent interview with The New York Times. When asked who has the power to call him out on his personal life, Kendrick answered: "One particular young lady. She's been here since day one."

Kendrick is clearly very big on loyalty, so it makes sense that his relationship with Whitney already has a long history. "You know the thing at the end of the day you want to always have real people around you, period. Whether it's male or female. Everybody that's been around me, they've been around since day one," he said. "People who have been by your side, you're supposed to honor that."
