It's enough to make you want to say "d-mn" — Kendrick Lamar is the latest artist to be announced as a performer for this year's MTV Video Music Awards ceremony. Lamar also happens to hold the most nominations of any artist this year with eight nods, including Artist of the Year and Best Hip Hop and Best Direction for the song and accompanying video for "Humble."

The rapper will be joining other A-listers like Fifth Harmony, Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes and the evening's host Katy Perry onstage. The VMA's are scheduled to air on Aug. 27 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
