Kesha's lead single from 'Warrior,' 'Die Young,' was an indirect casualty of the Newtown, Ct. massacre. The track faced an enormous radio airplay decline following the horrific school shooting on Dec. 15 when programmers and DJs pulled it from rotation.

The singer is now speaking out on the decision -- and she's being incredibly empathetic and sensitive. (We knew we liked her.)

K-Dollar Sign tweeted, "I'm so, so, so sorry for anyone who has been effected [sic] by this tragedy. And I understand why my song is now inappropriate. words cannot express."

TMZ reports that Kesha, who is a co-writer of 'Die Young' with Fun. frontman Nate Ruess, Dr. Luke and others, followed with, "I had my very own issues with 'die young'for this reason.  I did NOT want to sing those lyrics and I was FORCED TO."

That tweet has since been deleted, and it's unclear to whom Kesha was referring when she claims she was forced to sing the track.

It's worth noting that 'Die Young' isn't actually about dying young, but about living life to the fullest, though the title is repeated in the chorus: "I hear your heart beat to the beat of the drums / Oh what a shame that you came here with someone / So while you're here in my arms / Let's make the most of the night like we're gonna die young / We're gonna die young / We're gonna die young / Let's make the most of the night like we're gonna die young."
