How's this for nostalgia? Access Hollywood Live's Billy Bush and Kit Hoover caught up with Kevin Federline to talk parenting, his DJ career and (of course) his history with Britney Spears.

"I'm in a happy place right now," Kevin said. He looked almost unrecognizable (and quite handsome, we might add) in a polished gray suit, his hair cut short in a style that looked nothing like his Britney-era long locks.

Kevin and Britney split eight years ago, but if this interview is any indication, they're still on good terms and have learned how to make co-parenting work.

"The schedule's kind of been worked out over time and you know, we talk when we need to. It's always about the boys, it's mostly school stuff and making sure that we stay on top of that. It's going great," he said.

Kevin said he and his ex have worked out a system: When he had to had travel for a DJ gig last weekend, their sons, Sean and Jayden, went to Vegas, where Britney is performing Britney: Piece of Me at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.

Kevin and Britney's parenting philosophy is simple. "You have to put your kids first, no matter what. That's how I feel," he said.

"It's like a whirlwind. You're thrown into this limelight and everything kind of happened," the aspiring DJ said of his marriage to the pop star. "It was a good time in my life. We have two beautiful children. The way that everything has turned out, everyone is happy.
