Khloe Kardashian in Competition With Model Chrissy Teigen for ‘X Factor’ Hosting Duties

While it was reported that Khloe Kardashian was the front runner for 'X Factor' hosting duties, it looks like she may have a new competitor from way out in left field: Sports Illustrated model and fiancee of John Legend, Chrissy Teigen. If you squint and do enough Googling, the ladies even sort of look alike.

The New York Post reports that Teigen is a current favorite because of her popular Twitter following and "feisty personality," and also noted that she tested well in front of a camera. Teigen's appeared on MTV2's 'Guy Code' and has had notable beefs online and doesn't mince her words, so she'd be an interesting choice.

Teigen is in the running in part because the show's producers are concerned that Kardashian, who's used to semi-scripted "reality" television, may not be comfortable with unscripted banter. But to be fair to Khloe, she's pretty feisty herself -- she seems like the only Kardashian sister who actually has a personality, and she appears to not buy into the family's own hype as much as the rest of the krew does.

However, Teigen's fanbase is pretty different from the judging panel's, and that may be the nail in the coffin for her deal. Previous reports pointed out that part of why Khloe K. was a favorite is because she shares a big portion of her own fanbase with Britney Spears and Demi Lovato. It's said that Simon Cowell himself is pushing for Khloe to nab the gig.

Plus, wouldn't Chrissy feel a little guilty taking a spot on a show that pretty much decimated her man's series, 'Duets,' in terms of hype, talent and ratings?

In any case, the new judge will be officially unveiled this Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the 'X Factor' premiere event. 'Glee' actor Kevin McHale is also a frontrunner for a hosting gig. Cowell has said he wants a boy-girl duo with little to no hosting experience for the job, so there's a lot of potential awesomeness and disaster going on here. Stay tuned!
