Khloe Kardashian recently revealed she had a scare with skin cancer several years ago, according to a new post on her official website.

“I have moles everywhere and a couple years ago, I noticed one growing under my breast,” she wrote via Fox News. “I immediately looked it up online and found out that if a mole is growing and changing shape, you should go to the doctor — so I did. They took the whole thing out and they biopsied it.”

Khloe notes that the mole was not malignant, but her doctors zeroed in on a different mole they found on her back. The biopsy resulted in the removal of eight inches of Khloe’s skin.

“There was one mole I had on my back that was skin cancer. I had eight inches of skin removed,” she wrote. “It was definitely painful because it was a lot of skin but most of the time, the removals haven’t been that bad. Now that I’ve gone through this a couple of times, I am extra aware of my skin, body and moles."

In sharing her story, Khloe has urged her fans to see a physician regularly and to not ignore any bodily abnormalities they may notice over time.

“I urge you to check yourself frequently!” she continued. “I haven’t had a problem in years, but wanted to share my experience with you so that if you notice something doesn’t look right, you will take action and take care of your health!"
