Halloween can bring out our creepy and ghoulish ways. In the video for "Leave It Alone," Kylie Hughes lets her freak flag fly.

Taking some inspiration from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the video conveys the dreadful fate of a man who thought he was just going to hang out with a girl he likes but instead gets transformed into one of her dark, dancing minions. Aside from the fun horror visuals, Kylie was also excited to sit in the director's chair for the first time.

"Being the director and also being in 95 percent of the video was a challenge," she shares. "We were trying to cram as many shots and ideas into two nights and you have to be quick on your feet and willing to improvise. Luckily I had a great team...because I was so much on both sides of the camera, if I needed eyes on say, 'the choreography,' I had people who also had my vision and love for detail."

"It took a village and I had a lot of family on set," she adds. "My cousin Makenzie Murdock did all of the choreography, my fiancé Pat Barraza was the Director of Photography, I had friends being art assistants and set photographers. It was all hands on deck and crazy busy in the weeks leading up to the shoot as well. I also did all of the set design and art/props for the video! It was fun shooting the video at night, literally living as a vampire working from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. It's hard to pick what I loved more but I will always be 100 percent involved in future videos."

Does this mean that she'll continue to direct her own videos? Perhaps, but she's just happy with how well "Leave It Alone" turned out.

"I am just so excited for this video to be out," she said. "I can’t wait to see how fans respond to it and to hear what everyone’s favorite parts are. This was such a challenging project, so I hope to continue to push myself even further in the future."
