There's no point denying the fact that 18-year-old Kylie Jenner has an inordinate amount of influence over her followers. Her lip kit is endlessly popular, propelled to the top of most beauty bloggers' lists of highly coveted products, due, in part, to their unattainability. The Kardashian-Jenner machine has worked tirelessly to market Kylie to the masses, and it's worked well in lining her pockets with cash. You know it, I know it, Kylie knows it. But while lips may be her obvious trademark, Kylie's also taking credit for popularizing ...wigs?

In an interview for the May “Fresh Faces” issues of Marie Claire — of which other notable celebs Zendaya, Ellie Goulding, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Hailey Baldwin also get their own cover — Kylie does her delusional best, taking claim of making wigs fashionable.

“I started wigs, and now everyone is wearing wigs,” she said. “Kim [Kardashian] just used my wig guy last night...I just do whatever I want to do, and people will follow."

The last part of her comment is true, of course. Kylie has become a trendsetter and we'd be remiss to ignore the power her celebrity has on beauty and fashion trends. It’s also true that Kylie is known, in part, for her constantly evolving look, and it’s one that certainly extends to her ever-changing hair. But starting wigs? Hmmm.

Twitter users, understandably, did not take too kindly to her words:

And while Kylie has yet to officially address the quote, she did post this shortly after the headline picked up steam online:

Maybe the full quote will sound better in context? The odds of this outcome are unlikely, but we'll try to give her the benefit of the doubt until the issue hits newsstands on April 19.
