Indie rockers Other Lives provide the music for the trailer to the new Kate Winslet-Josh Brolin film 'Labor Day,' a dramatic thriller that hits theaters in December.

'Labor Day' tells the story of a mother and her 13-year-old son, who give a ride to a hitchhiker, only to discover he's a convicted murderer who recently escaped from prison. The trailer initially makes it unclear whether Winslet's character is going along with the convict willingly or if she is being held against her will.

The video clip builds tension with the use of the Other Lives song 'Take Us Alive,' the first track on their 2012 release 'Mind the Gap.' The song's vibrant use of violin conveys a feeling of urgency and works nicely with the story in the trailer.

Other Lives originated in Oklahoma and have released several albums over the past decade. 'Mind the Gap' is their most recent EP. They have earned massive cool points by opening for the likes of Bon Iver and Radiohead.

Tobey Maguire and James Van Der Beek also make appearances in 'Labor Day,' which is scheduled for limited screenings on Christmas Day, followed by a nationwide release on Jan. 31, 2014.
